There’s nothing like a good contour kit. South Africa’s only problem is our lack of variety. We either have to import beauty products from elsewhere (and with our TERRIBLY weak currency, it’s not the best option) or suck it up and use whatever is available. I have searched high and low for a contour kit that is worth its price AND I’ve finally found one!
Beauty Treats Face Powder Contour Collection is a gift from the Makeup Gods – the powders are pigmented, blendable and it won’t break the bank!

As someone who struggles with oily skin, I often find myself in the predicament of breaking out at the most inopportune moment. Not only is it frustrating for me, but also embarrassing. Yes, I’m well aware that pimples are a normal part of being a teenager and everyone gets them (LIE! One of my friends has the clearest skin I’ve ever seen. It’s like fine china), but it’s just something that makes me self-conscious to the point where I won’t even let MY FAMILY see me without makeup on.
With the #SkinLovesRooibos campaign, I’m working on combating my pimples and insecurity. African Extracts is a local South African company whose products centre around a main ingredient of Rooibos, a type of plant & tea. AE originally started with the “Classic” range, and has now extended to “Purifying”, “Even Tone” and “Advantage” ranges. I’ve been given the opportunity to review the Purifying range which is targeted at young, oily skin that is prone to blemishes.

Whilst I’ve managed to restore my hair to a healthy state again, its colour is certainly lacking. This is due to sun exposure and various other factors. I have, however, been given the opportunity to return it to its deep chocolate colour once again!
As part of the #MeAndJohnFrieda campaign, I am going to be reviewing the new John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Visibly Deeper shampoo & conditioner. I couldn’t be more excited!

Here’s the thing. I’m fussy about lipsticks. The way to my heart is through lipsticks (HINT HINT). I must admit, when I bought a lipstick for R13.99, I wasn’t expecting much. But boy do I have news for you!

Although contouring is “out” according to starlets and their makeup artists, it will always be one of my favourite makeup techniques. My face is somewhat chubby and despite it’s “perfect” oval shape, I do not have carved cheekbones, a sharp jaw or a thin nose (it’s actually rather bulbous). So that’s why I like contouring – I can define my features in the way I want.

Hair care is one of my top priorities. My hair constantly needs to be cared for, but last year I wasn’t caring for it appropriately. I was just using random products that others had told me of – despite the fact that none of them had dry, curly, frizzy hair like me. A lot has changed in the year since my last hair care post so I’m here to update you!

I struggle with getting smooth skin. I just have very oily skin that results in small sebaceous deposits all over my nose and thus pimples/uneven skin. I’m also quite prone to hormonal breakouts. BUT I recently found a miracle exfoliator that has cleared up a large portion of my skin problems!

Confidence. That’s a pretty simple word. The actual thing is not quite as simple. That’s why I’m so glad to be involved in a campaign that promotes confidence and happiness!

Hair is a tricky topic. Everyone’s hair behaves differently, but there is one thing we all have in common – we want to keep our hair healthy. I wanted to share a couple of my hair do’s and dont’s to heathy hair with you. This guide to healthier hair is officially underway.

As I type this, my bare nails click against the keys of my laptop. I have just removed the chipping polish and floral nail stick-ons that I have been sporting for the past week. I was just about to paint a fresh coat of nail polish for this week’s manicure when I was struck with inspiration.
