Blemish Be Gone || #SkinLovesRooibos

As someone who struggles with oily skin, I often find myself in the predicament of breaking out at the most inopportune moment. Not only is it frustrating for me, but also embarrassing. Yes, I’m well aware that pimples are a normal part of being a teenager and everyone gets them (LIE! One of my friends has the clearest skin I’ve ever seen. It’s like fine china), but it’s just something that makes me self-conscious to the point where I won’t even let MY FAMILY see me without makeup on.

With the #SkinLovesRooibos campaign, I’m working on combating my pimples and insecurity. African Extracts is a local South African company whose products centre around a main ingredient of Rooibos, a type of plant & tea. Ready. Set. Contour.

Although contouring is “out” according to starlets and their makeup artists, it will always be one of my favourite makeup techniques. My face is somewhat chubby and despite it’s “perfect” oval shape, I do not have carved cheekbones, a sharp jaw or a thin nose (it’s actually rather bulbous). So that’s why I like contouring – I can define my features in the way I want.

Updated Hair Care

Hair care is one of my top priorities. My hair constantly needs to be cared for, but last year I wasn’t caring for it appropriately. I was just using random products that others had told me of – despite the fact that none of them had dry, curly, frizzy hair like me. A lot has changed in the year since my last hair care post so I’m here to update you!
